President's message

President's message

After thoughtful reflection, I have accepted the mantle of leadership from President Tseng. Senior members have offered their reassurance, emphasizing there is no reason for apprehension. Over the years, this society has flourished under the leadership of its presidents, secretaries-general, board members, supervisors, and committees, establishing a robust foundation. It has been a cornerstone in advancing national surveying and resource investigation missions. Academically, the society has actively organized and co-organized domestic conferences, fostering a platform for scholars, experts, and students to share and exchange research in photogrammetry and remote sensing. Furthermore, its active engagement with international academic organizations has facilitated the dissemination and enhancement of expertise globally. Being part of the CSPRS organization is a profound honor and a significant responsibility.

The reassurance stands firm: why worry? Even if my capabilities may be limited, the CSPRS society will empower me. In times of uncertainty, the collective wisdom of the society’s team will guide decisions. The path forward remains consistent with the values and direction established by predecessors. With the unwavering support, encouragement, and collaboration of all members, along with the concerted efforts of our departments and committees, the society will continue to enhance technical capabilities across departments; uphold its pivotal role in surveying and resource investigation; strengthen international academic collaboration, and advance and expand applications of photogrammetry and remote sensing technologies.

The rapid evolution of spatial information technologies demands continuous adaptation and self-improvement. Mastery of foundational skills, such as centering and leveling during instrument setup, serves as a steadfast anchor and a source of consistent effort. In this pursuit, becoming proficient in photogrammetry and remote sensing is crucial. Amid the global pandemic, advancing safely and responsibly remains a shared goal. Let’s move forward and get to work.

President
